1MORE are fast becoming a well acclaimed and reputable audio company that is known to provide quality design and also award-winning audio. Today, we put their Triple Driver in-ear headphones to the test to see if they live up to this standard.

The 1MORE Triple Driver may not be 1MORE’s flagship earphones, but yet they still offer highly impressive audio specifications as well as some finer details that you’d usually find more frequently on higher tier offerings.
Their main selling point is the triple driver configuration that implements a single dynamic driver and dual balanced armature drivers. This setup is supposed to provide the listener with highly accurate yet powerful sound. But just having three drivers isn’t enough, so 1MORE sought the expertise of Grammy award-winning sound engineer Luca Bignardi to help fine tune the sound profile.
Not only do they have the triple driver combination, but they’ve equipped the 1MORE Triple Driver with two metal resonators that work in tandem to boost the sound and to create more power. They also have a Patented metal diaphragm structure that utilises a sandwich arrangement. This is composed of an outer PET diaphragm, a Titanium core and inner PET diaphragm. This is used to increase sound transmission speed as well as offering an extended treble.

Packaging & First Look
The 1MORE Triple Driver comes packaged in a stylish dark Brown box. The front is quite simplistic and just features an image of the earphones, the branding top left, some details about the earphones in the bottom right and finally a Hi-resolution audio badge bottom left.
The side of the packaging is quite interesting too as it resembles the side profile of a hard-backed book. There is also a 1MORE badge which has a subtle brushed texture to finish the effect.
Inside the packaging is one of the most well thought out that we have come across. There is a cutout for everything included with the earphones. The tips come in a block of foam that is organised and labelled by size. On the other side, there is a retro-styled technical drawing that further adds to the premium feel of the packaging.
Included in the box there are 6 sets of silicone eartips which vary in size. There are a further 3 sets of foam tips if you have a preference for them. Also included are a carry case, shirt clip, dual prong airline adapter and the documentation.
Even at the packaging/presentation level, the finer details are covered and even though this isn’t something which is crucial to the success of a product, it enhances the overall experience and gives a nod towards a higher level of care.
Taking a first look at the 1MORE Triple Driver and it’s clear that their attention to detail is first-rate. The Triple Driver has a Titanium colour finish with Silver accents across the main housing. They also come in a Black and Gold variant if those are more to your taste.
Closer Look
The Triple Drivers housing is made from an Aluminium alloy and has undergone some fine sandblasting treatment to ensure a durable yet attractive finish has been obtained. The housing features some subtle 1MORE branding on the outer side and a simple left/right indicator on the inside.
On the right side earpiece cable, there is an inline controller with three buttons. On the opposing of the inline controller side, there is a singular microphone.
The cable is 1.25m long and constructed in a hybrid style. The top section is covered with a soft touch material whereas the bottom half is fabric coated. The end termination uses a similar material as the main housing and features a four pole connector which is Gold Plated.
Performance Testing
Setup & Observations
Getting going with the earphones is simple, all you do is connect them to a compatible device with a 3.5mm port, and they’re ready to use. To make the most out of them they need to be paired with an Android device, this is because the Triple Driver has increased functionality with Android in comparison to iOS.
The two outer buttons on the inline controller act as the volume control, this feature is only supported by Android and won’t work on iOS. The central button controls the play/pause function, song selection, calling function and speech recognition. The song selection feature only works on Android, however, and is not supported on Apple devices. The buttons on the inline controller are nicely weighted and give off a good tactile click.
The Triple Driver has a great quality feel to them as a whole. The main housing is solid, and the tolerances in the construction are superb. The cable feels nice as well which is reassuring for long-term use. This is then further backed up by the core of the cable being reinforced with Kevlar fibre.
Multimedia
Giving the 1MORE Triple Driver the test treatment involved listening to multiple genres of music, during this testing we found that the Triple Driver provided an insightful and powerful sound. The bass frequency is rich and potent yet very clean while providing a smooth extension down to the lower frequencies. The treble is vibrant but never harsh or brash, it’s also highly detailed with a solid soundstage that provides a good sense of space. Usually, earphones suffer from a compressed soundstage due to their inherent design, but the Triple Driver doesn’t suffer this fate. I will say that they still can’t match headphones for a real sense of space, but for earphones, the soundstage is unexpectedly broad and tall. Vocal production is very versatile, and the Triple Driver can deliver a powerful vocal whilst maintaining a great sense of realism.
Our testing continued via the consumption of movies and TV. The 1MORE Triple Driver again impressed. With their robust bass, they did a great job of conveying the power of gunshots and explosions all whilst preserving a great amount of information in the treble. Their surprising soundstage is again made apparent as the sense of space provided was solid. Finer details in the sound were present, and they didn’t leave much unexplored. However, as satisfying as these are, they still can’t match the movie-going experience provided by a set of good over-ear headphones.
The in-game experience offered by the Triple Driver was, mixed. For titles that don’t rely too much on spacial awareness – like casual games, the Triple Driver offers an immersive experience. The bass is plentiful, the detail and clarity are superb, and most of all the experience was enjoyable.
However, for titles that require heightened spatial awareness and clear comprehension of your surroundings, the 1MORE start to falter. We can’t place blame on the Triple Driver as they were never designed for gaming, but, if you are planning on playing eSports titles, we would then recommend that you opt for a dedicated headset.
Also if you are planning on using these for gaming on PC, be mindful that the cable is quite short, so you may require an extension if your PC is underneath your desk or a bit further away from where you are sat.
Microphone
The microphone that the Triple Driver uses is surprisingly impressive with good levels of detail and clarity. The proximity is quite close to your mouth, meaning that you don’t have to speak too loud in order for the microphone to pick up your voice. We would, however, say that it isn’t quite good enough to replace a dedicated microphone.
For more general in-game chat and voice calls, it’s more than adequate.
Conclusion
It’s abundantly clear that 1MORE know what they’re doing and this shows. It all starts with packaging that could have been overlooked as it’s not a sure-fire way to ensure the success of a product. But, 1MORE clearly invested a lot of time into this, and it’s the finer details like this, that heighten the overall experience. The quantity and quality of the accessories strengthen this as well given the Triple Driver comes with so many sets of eartips and also the other extras, that again add to the overall package.1MORE continues this trend through to the Triple Driver as they are not only very attractive but also very well made too. Comfort is a potential issue for some users as the levels of this provided by earphones can be very dependant on a lot of varying factors. 1MORE have tried to combat this with the inclusion of nine sets of eartips which vary in size and also in material. Also, they’ve crafted an ergonomic design which translates into the comfortable form factor that the Triple Driver posses.
Their technological know-how is also made evident with the use of a triple driver configuration that works alongside the twin metal resonators to create a powerful and balanced sound. The Triple Driver also boasts Hi-Res audio capabilities as well as a THX certification that further adds to the already impressive feature set.
Pricing with products like this can always be somewhat of a concern, but if you have the capital to spend and you have a preference for earphones, then the Triple Driver are certainly are worth serious consideration.
