Acer has expanded its Predator gaming handheld portfolio with the new Predator Atlas 7, bringing the performance of its larger 8-inch counterpart into a more compact 7-inch form factor. Powered by Intel Arc G-Series processors and graphics, the handheld combines a 120 Hz FHD touchscreen, dual-fan cooling, up to an 80 Wh battery and a range of connectivity features aimed at delivering a flagship portable gaming experience.
Alongside the Acer Predator Atlas 7, Acer has also unveiled Project DualPlay Mini, an 8-inch concept device that combines gaming and mobile productivity in a convertible form factor. Featuring a flip-and-swivel design with an integrated physical keyboard, the concept can transition between handheld gaming and mini-laptop modes.
Acer Predator Atlas 7
The Predator Atlas 7 (PA07-I51) is designed for gamers looking for a more portable alternative to larger gaming handhelds without giving up performance. The device is powered by up to an Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor paired with Intel Arc B390 graphics, while configurations with an Intel Arc G3 processor and Intel Arc B370 graphics are also available.
The handheld runs Windows 11 Home and includes access to Xbox Game Pass, allowing users to play a broad selection of PC and console titles. Memory is configurable up to 24 GB of LPDDR5x running at 7467 MT/s, while storage is provided by a PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSD with capacities of up to 1 TB.
Dual-Fan Cooling With Vortex Flow
Acer has equipped the Predator Atlas 7 with a dual-fan cooling system designed to maintain performance during sustained gaming sessions. One of the fans is a precision metal Predator AeroBlade design featuring 89 blades measuring just 0.1 mm thick. Acer claims the fan can deliver up to a 10% increase in airflow.
The second fan uses a plastic construction and works alongside Acer’s Vortex Flow tuning. Angled internal channels help direct heated air out of the chassis more efficiently, allowing the system to balance cooling performance with the handheld’s compact dimensions.
The Predator Atlas 7 is available with a battery capacity of up to 80 Wh, with Acer also offering a lighter configuration using a 60 Wh battery. The device weighs under 750 g with the larger battery and under 700 g with the 60 Wh option.
7-Inch 120 Hz Display
The handheld features a 7-inch FHD IPS-level touchscreen with a 1920 x 1080 resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio. The panel offers a 120 Hz refresh rate, 500 nits brightness and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support for smoother gameplay. The display covers 100% of the sRGB colour space and 75% of AdobeRGB, while Corning Gorilla Glass Victus with Gorilla Glass DXC surface treatment provides scratch resistance and reduced glare. A tempered-glass screen protector is also included. Touch input supports 10-point multi-touch, providing responsive interaction with Windows 11 and compatible games and applications.
Designed For Better Control
Acer has sculpted the Predator Atlas 7 around a more ergonomic handheld design, incorporating contoured grips, an enlarged palm rest area, recessed keys and an anti-slip texture. The layout is intended to provide a steadier grip and more consistent control during extended gaming sessions. The handheld can be equipped with either Carbon Film full-size analogue joysticks or TMR joysticks. The latter option uses tunnelling magnetoresistance technology for improved precision and anti-drift performance, while Acer states that the TMR implementation provides zero dead zones.
Hall-effect analogue triggers are also included, providing greater range and pressure variation for games that benefit from more precise analogue input. Additional controls include L/R Macro buttons, dedicated PredatorSense and Xbox Game Bar buttons, volume controls and the usual ABXY, D-pad, bumper, View and Menu controls. The power button incorporates a fingerprint sensor, enabling quick and secure Windows Hello authentication.
Connectivity And Software
Two Thunderbolt 4 ports provide high-bandwidth connectivity for docking, external displays and accessories. Storage can be expanded through the UHS-II microSD card reader, which supports up to SD 4.0 as well as SD, SDHC, SDXC and SDUC cards. Wireless connectivity is handled by Intel Killer Wi-Fi 7 BE1775s and Bluetooth 5.4. A 3.5 mm combo audio jack is also provided.
Acer’s PredatorSense software gives users access to live system monitoring, performance mode selection, RGB lighting customisation and gaming settings. The software can be accessed directly from the dedicated PredatorSense button. For audio, the Predator Atlas 7 features two 2 W speakers powered by a Realtek ALC712 codec, with DTS Virtual Ultra and Hi-Res Audio support. Dual onboard microphones are complemented by Acer PurifiedVoice for AI-assisted noise reduction during voice communication.

Project DualPlay Mini
Acer is also showcasing Project DualPlay Mini, an 8-inch Predator concept designed to combine portable gaming and productivity in a single device. The concept features a flip-and-swivel mechanism that allows the device to transition between handheld and mini-laptop configurations. For gaming, users can choose between a conventional handheld layout or a laptop-style configuration using the integrated backlit physical keyboard, providing an alternative control method for genres such as first-person shooters.
When used for productivity, Project DualPlay Mini can function as a mobile work device and connect to an external display, potentially eliminating the need to carry a separate laptop for users who want both gaming and productivity capabilities on the move. The concept also incorporates a dual-fan cooling architecture derived from the Predator Atlas 8, using a Predator AeroBlade metal fan alongside a plastic fan. The metal fan features even thinner blades than those used in the Atlas 8.
As part of Acer’s 50th anniversary celebrations, the back cover of Project DualPlay Mini features the phrase “Acer 50 since 1976” embedded in Morse Code, combining the company’s milestone with Predator’s gaming-focused design language.
