noblechairs are back, and back with a bang, integrating all they’ve learned from previous iterations into the brand new LEGEND. Is it any good? Let’s have a look.

noblechairs are a brand that popped up relatively recently out of a want, and need, of consumers for high quality office/gaming chairs that provide proper ergonomic support and that look good in all environments.
We’ve looked at several of their offerings over the past few years, including the ICON, EPIC, HERO and even revisited models when coverings or features have been improved or added. We’ve been very comfortable to recommend all of their offerings up to now, so it’s with great excitement that we get to look at their newest model.
The noblechairs LEGEND brings together several iterations of improvements into one comprehensive new product, offering the quality, comfort and style that you’d expect from high-end luxury cars.
This time around, you’re offered five different colours in a variety of different finishes and textures, so there’s something for everyone. One of the newest features is the German High-Tech PU, which is more breathable and more robust than traditional leather while being, noblechairs claims, very difficult to distinguish from Napa leather.
A steel frame, deform resistant cold-form foam, durable class-4 gas lift, nylon casters and much more have been employed to give the LEGEND the kind of lifespan you would expect from a premium product.
The LEGEND certainly offers many things to talk about, and if previous reviews are anything to go by, it’ll look great in any office, but is it an improvement over the other office chairs we’ve seen, and is it worthy of their highest price tag to date? Let’s have a look and find out.

Packaging & Included Parts
Unfortunately the LEGEND arrives in a big, bulky, cumbersome box that’s difficult to move around but this is a necessary step you’ll just need to get past to enjoy the comfort of your shiny new office chair. The packaging is bulky because it needs to be. In terms of protection, the cardboard used is triple-corrugated with plenty of foam and other protective methods used inside.
Starting with the smallest pieces and working our way up to the bulk of the chair, we’ll kick off with the hinge mechanism. This is a critical piece for the entire workings of the chair, if noblechairs get this bit wrong, the whole thing won’t work correctly. Thankfully, the tilt mechanism feels rock solid thanks to its steel construction and tight tolerances.
Laying out all of the smaller pieces, you’ve got the hinge covers on the left, the Class-4 gas piston, with the piston cover just above it. There’s a pair of handles that slot over the silver rods from the photo above, a set of 5 nylon casters and finally the bolts, screws and a multitool to put it together.
As is tradition with a noblechairs, you get a pair of lovely, and very soft cushions that match the colour scheme of your choosing. We got a beautiful bright silver stitching on our pillows. The upper pillow sits behind the users neck, with an elastic strap and plastic clip on the back side, while the lower pillow sits at the lumbar to provide additional support, also using elastic straps and plastic clips.
The five prong aluminium wheelbase is identical to previous models, with a robust paint finish and stylish design.

The base of the chair sits at 520mm wide, with the internal flat section being 330mm wide. The flat High-Tech PU leather, noblechairs claims, is their most breathable yet, which users in warmer climates will be very happy to hear.
Flipping the base over, to expose the solid steel frame underneath, you can see that materials aren’t spared here, the leather overlaps substantially, the box section metal frame is bulky, very bulky, to ensure the chair lasts well into the future. They even tuck a little noblechairs logo down here, just for a finishing touch.
The backrest, the piece of the chair that gives it the most appeal, is beautifully sculpted. The bolsters protrude outwards at the bottom, like a race car, but slowly smooth their way into a tapered shape at the top, with a very shiny aluminium-like centre piece near the top. There’s then a headrest right at the top of the chair, jutting forwards so as not to require you to push your head too far backwards.
Spinning the backrest around, the rear is a smooth slab of plastic. They’ve added a cool little noblechairs logo down in the bottom-right, and the noblechairs text is recessed into the bottom of the silver piece, but overall it’s not much to look at.

Performance & Comfort Testing
Building the chair is a simple enough process, with the tools provided for you. If you’re brand new to this kind of thing, expect it to take you 30-60 minutes, but a competent builder could have it done in 15-20 minutes. It couldn’t be easier.The noblechairs range are all designed to be strong and to last a considerable length of time, the LEGEND doesn’t feel any different from the previous review samples we’ve had, solid as a rock. At this point I’ve used a noblechairs ICON almost every single day for over 5 years and it’s still great and I plan to continue using it.
The largest change on this new model is the shape, with an all-new design. It feels like a mash-up between the ICON and the HERO, which have been my two favourites so far, as it happens.
On the right-hand side of the chair is a rotatable wheel, this adjusts the lumbar support, pushing out an internal piece to help shape your back correctly. This has infinite adjustment so you can fine-tune the feel of this to suit your particular needs.
There’s a hinge mechanism on each side of the chair, but only one side actually provides any rigidity, this side is also responsible to setting the angle of the recliner feature. You can go from 90° to 135°, in very small increments, to ensure you can find your sweet spot. For the first time, that we’ve seen, noblechairs have installed a locking pin into this section that needs to be removed during the build process, which seems like a very wise move from previous builds.
noblechairs revamped their armrests a few iterations back and since then have stuck with the same model for their entire lineup, they work well, feel comfortable, have a stiff but padded upper surface and relatively little unwanted movement. There’s not much that needs improved here, they do the job well. Of course, they still offer the same 4D adjustability. Up and down, left and right, angled inwards and outwards and slide forwards and backwards.
Conclusion
As per usual, noblechairs have offered us another sample for review, and we’ve struggled to find any criticism, but there are some small niggles that we’ll highlight to allow you to make an informed decision on your purchase.We’ll start off with build quality and fitment and finish. This is something that noblechairs does right, there’s no play or flex in anything, all of the handles, lumber adjustment, armrests, steel frame, it all feels well-made and built to last. But, when it comes to fitment and finish, we have a bit of an issue with the clearance between the backrest and seat base, there’s a considerable gap this time around, a gap we’ve not seen on any other models up to now. It allows light to seep through and makes it look almost as though the chair doesn’t fit together properly. This might not bother most, but it’s worth mentioning anyway; we didn’t like it.
This time around, noblechairs have offered the chair in 5 different finishes, all of which offer water resistance and a robust top-layer to repel dirt over the years. Choice is always nice, and their new red, white and black model looks great in the photos. We opted to receive the all black model and we are not disappointed at all, the surface of the leather feels beautiful under the hand and it looks fantastic in the office. No regrets.
If we’re being honest with you right now, noblechairs do seem to be struggling a little bit to add new features, we’ve seen advancements from the competition in certain areas, such as magnetic attachment of pillows, but we aren’t seeing the same from this side yet. noblechairs seem to be focused on improving their PU leather options, to give better breathability and reducing their impact on the environment at the same time, but is that enough to justify a new product? You can be the judge on that one.
We mentioned at the start of the review that this is their most expensive offering so far, and whether or not it’s worthy of that pricetag. The chair certainly has the most premium air to it, merging the sporty style from the EPIC, the sleek design from the ICON and the imposing size and lumbar support from the HERO into one does-it-all product. The new High-Tech PU coating does feel lovely as well, much nicer than the 1st Gen PU coating on my ICON. But is it worth that massive price-tag? We’re not 100% sure.
If you’re looking to spruce up your office with a stylish new gaming chair that’ll provide comfort and support for years to come, it’s very difficult to look past a noblechairs, with the LEGEND offering everything in a does-it-all package.
