Alphacool has introduced the Apex 2 Thermal Grease, developed in collaboration with Halnziye. The new thermal interface material features a completely revised formula designed to deliver improved heat transfer compared with its predecessor. The Apex 2 is designed for high-performance CPUs and GPUs, with particular improvements in demanding applications such as GPU hotspots. Its electrically non-conductive formula also makes it suitable for sensitive components, while its balanced consistency allows controlled application and even distribution across the contact surface.
Improved Cooling Performance
The new Alphacool Apex 2 was developed from the ground up to meet the thermal demands of modern hardware. The thermal grease fills microscopic gaps between the component and cooler, reducing air pockets and improving heat transfer. With a thermal conductivity of 17.3 W/m-K and thermal impedance of 0.0006 °C-in²/W, the Alphacool Apex 2 is suited to demanding cooling applications.
Optimised For CPUs And GPUs
The new thermal grease is designed for both CPUs and GPUs, with particular emphasis on areas with concentrated heat generation such as GPU hotspots. It is suitable for gaming and overclocking systems, as well as workstations and servers.
The electrically non-conductive formulation provides a volume resistivity of 2.0 × 10^13 Ohm.cm and is designed for safe use around sensitive electronic components.
Updated Accessory Set
Alphacool has also updated the included accessories. Alongside the Putty Tool, the Apex 2 package includes an application card for spreading the thermal grease evenly and an alcohol wipe for cleaning contact surfaces before application.
The company recommends warming the thermal grease in your hands briefly before use to improve its workability and make it easier to apply a thin, uniform layer.
