Since DX11 was first spoken about many enthusiasts have been eager for the dual-GPU offerings from both NVIDIA and ATI. The 5970 has been out for a while now and ATI’s side has recently been backed up by the ASUS ARES. NVIDIA’s side has been fairly lacking in the DX11 race but that is soon to change.
The previous dual-GPU graphics card made by NVIDIA was last generation’s GTX295. This was the basis of the popular and very powerful ASUS MARS. ASUS are set to continue this trend with the ASUS MARS II. As can be seen from the below pictures the monster graphics card require 3x 8-pin connectors for power and has 8+2 phase VRM for each core. Each core is as seen on the GTX480 – having 1536MB of DDR5 memory via a 384 bit interface and having the full 480 CUDA cores.
