be quiet!, a German PC hardware brand renowned for its focus on silent computing across PC cases, cooling solutions, and power supply units, has sent us one of its latest ATX 3.1 offerings — the Pure Power 13 M 1000W. The Pure Power 13 M series is an 80 PLUS Gold-rated PSU lineup spanning from 550W to 1000W, targeting mainstream and performance-oriented PC builds. In this review, we take a closer look at the top-end 1000W model, examining its multi-GPU support and unexpectedly Platinum-level efficiency performance.
Introduced in October, the be quiet! Pure Power 13 M Series is positioned as the brand’s Gold-rated offerings, certified with 80PLUS Gold and Cybenetics Gold efficiency ratings. The Pure Power 13 M is available in 550W, 650W, 750W, 850W, and 1000W variants which caters to a wide range of mainstream PC users. All of the variants also have native PCIe 5.1 12V-2×6 connectors – including the 550W model which is usual but likely necessary moving forward as NVIDIA and AMD Radeon adopts the 12V-2×6 connector standard to include even the entry-level GPUs.
Moving on, the Pure Power 13 M Series features a newly introduced semi-passive cooling function featuring a 120mm be quiet! cooling fan. On paper, the Pure Power 13 M 1000W model features Cybenetics Gold efficiency. However, Cybenetics did certify this particular PSU to Platinum-level efficiency – see Cybenetics certification here. Even so, be quiet! uses the Cybenetics Gold badge on both the product page and retail packaging, likely to maintain consistency across the entire Pure Power 13 M lineup. That said, the 1000W variant achieves Platinum-level efficiency under Cybenetics testing, which further enhances the overall value proposition of the unit.

The Pure Power 13 M PSU 1000W PSU is one of the longer 1000W PSU we’ve tested this year, measuring 160mm in length. In comparison, the COUGAR GLE 1000W and SAMA G1000 both measures 150mm in length while the FSP VITA GM 1000W measures only 140mm in length. If you are building a PC in a rather compact chassis, take note of the PSU length particularly with the Pure Power 13 M Series.
The Pure Power 13 M Series comes with a comprehensive set of safety certifications, including BSMI, CB, CCC, CE, cTUVus, CU, FCC, RCM, TÜV, and UKCA. The series also complies with key environmental directives, including Energy Star 8.0, ErP, WEEE, and RoHS.

The be quiet! Pure Power 13 M 1000W comes in a coloured box with a simple and straightforward design and print.The back of the box has more information about the PSU and be quiet.
More brands are moving toward eco-friendly packaging practices, and be quiet! appears to be embracing this shift. Inside the box, only the PSU itself is wrapped in bubble wrap, accompanied by a small pack containing screws and cable ties, resulting in a notably minimal use of plastic overall.

The Pure Power 13 M 1000W is bundled with the typical essential accessories including screws and cable ties. Aside from the modular cables, the PSU also comes with a manual and a power cord.
Cables
The be quiet! Pure Power 13 M series is supplied with flat black cables. The 24-pin ATX and 12V-2×6 cables have additional braided sleeving with heat-shrink to keep the wiring neatly bundled.
All modular cables on the Pure Power 13 M are clearly labelled at the connectors, making installation more straightforward. The included 12v-2×6 cable is rated for up to 600W, ensuring full compatibility with even the highest-end NVIDIA RTX graphics cards.

With the included cable set, the 1000W variant can support multiple graphics cards that rely on older PCIe power connectors. However, as only a single 12V-2×6 cable is provided, any additional GPU requiring this connector would need to use a PCIe-to-12V-2×6 adapter.
Closer Look (External)
The Pure Power 13 M has a very simple enclosure design – a “be quiet!” branding is embossed on the side. If your PC chassis has a bottom-mounted PSU bay and without a shroud, this would be the visible side of the PSU.
The top of the PSU is completely free of labels or markings, which is something I personally prefer. On many power supplies, this area is often covered with an information sticker detailing specifications and certifications.
The opposite side of the PSU houses the information label, which includes essential details such as the model name, certifications, electrical specifications, and the unit’s serial number.
At the rear, the layout is kept simple, featuring only the power cord socket and the main power switch. Although the PSU supports semi-passive cooling, there is no dedicated toggle to enable or disable this function manually.
All PSU connectors are clearly labelled for easy identification during installation.
The Pure Power 13 M series also shares cable compatibility with several older be quiet! power supplies, which can be verified through the brand’s cable compatibility checker on the be quiet! website. This allows users upgrading from an older be quiet! PSU to reuse their existing cables or keep them as spares.
Closer Look (Internal)
A key feature of the Pure Power 13 M is its 120 mm be quiet! cooling fan (model BQ QF2-12025 HS), rated for speeds of up to 2000 RPM. While this specific model does not directly correspond to any retail be quiet! case fan, its blade design closely resembles that of the Pure Wings 3 series, albeit housed in a more conventional fan frame. Even so, it retains the brand’s iconic Pure Wings fan blade design, reinforcing its focus on efficient airflow and low-noise operation.
The Pure Power 13 M PSU’s OEM manufacturer is FSP. The Pure Power 13 M 1000W is equipped with two primary capacitors and heatsinks to assist heat dissipation.
The PSU is equipped with two 470uF 420V 105°C PL(M) Series aluminium electrolytic capacitor manufactured by Elite (Taiwan Chinsan Electronic Group). The PSU’s secondary capacitors are also sourced from the same company.
Be quiet! appears to be using the same PCB for all the models under the Pure Power 13 M Series and it is encouraging to know that the 1000W model surpasses the Cybenetics Gold efficiency rating, achieving Cybenetics Platinum rating overall. See Cybenetics certification here.
Testing Methodologies and Results
TestingWe are using an ElmorLabs PMD2 that monitors and measures voltage, current, and power flowing through the CPU, GPU and motherboard power cables.
Our testing methodology will now be using OCBase’s OCCT Enterprise Edition software for power loading and monitoring. Tweaking the OCCT Stability Test, we can set different power loads for the PSU easier rather than playing around with various software to achieve set power loads. All testing is conducted using the 230V residential power standard.
Methodology
The ElmorLabs PMD2 offer a couple of testing points – two 8-pin EPS connectors (EPS1 and EPS2), three +12V 8-pin PCIE (PCIE1, PCIE2, and PCI3), and readings on the 24-pin which include +12V, +5, and +3.3. We will be monitoring and recording the voltages and wattage on each of these power cables. The PMD2 cannot monitor the +12V on the SATA/MOLEX power cables. For that, we will still be using a multimeter to also monitor the voltages delivered to the SATA/MOLEX cables.
Power load will be at 10% increments using the OCCT Stability Test running for 5 minutes – as much as our current testing setup allows which is currently 750W~800W with the following testing configuration below:

Results
The recorded voltages represent the average readings taken during each 5-minute power-load run using the OCCT Stability Test.
OCCT Stability Tests
The graphs above illustrate the PMD2 readings recorded during the 60% load and maximum workload tests using the OCCT Stability Test. Across both scenarios, the +12 V readings on the PCIe and EPS output cables consistently remain above 12.000 V, which is also reflected in the accompanying table. From under 10% load up to roughly 70% load — technically around 75%, as the system’s average peak power draw reached 752 W — all measured +12 V rails maintained values above the 12.000 V threshold.
Overall, the Pure Power 13 M 1000W demonstrates impressive voltage regulation, typically within the 1–2% range on most rails, with the exception of the +12 V rail on the peripheral/Molex outputs. Despite this, the PSU delivers stable and reliable power to the system’s most critical components, namely the CPU, motherboard, and graphics cards, via the EPS and PCIe power outputs.
At full load, the PMD2 reads 754W at one point while the watt meter on the socket reads 785W. This demonstrates the efficiency of the PSU which is above 90%.
Acoustics
Be quiet! is known silent cooling and the integration of the be quiet!-designed cooling fan on the Pure Power 13 M aims to demonstrate that. The Pure Power 13 M 1000W did score a Cybenetics Lambda A++ noise level rating which is the highest noise level rating – same with the Seasonic PRIME TX-1600 Noctua Edition 1600W PSU.
The Pure Power 13 M features semi-passive cooling wherein the fan does not spin at low loads and temperatures offering silent operation under such circumstances. At high workloads wherein the PSU’s fan starts to spin, it’s quiet compared to other components in our test PC.
At maximum workload, noise level readings vary in different sample points. Near the PSU, reading is around 56 dBA. Pointing near the graphics cards, the noise level bumps up to 63 dBA. Overall, the Pure Power 13 M would be the least of your worries when it comes to noise generated on your computer particularly with triple-fan graphics cards and large CPU coolers.
Conclusion
The be quiet! Pure Power 13 M series is designed to appeal to a wide range of users, from casual PC users to gamers and content creators running more demanding systems. With variants spanning from 550W up to 1000W, the lineup offers enough flexibility to suit everything from modest builds to high-performance, multi-GPU configurations, while maintaining be quiet!’s core focus on efficiency and low-noise operation. The top-end Pure Power 13 M 1000W variant is ideal for gamers and content creators, designed to support high-performance CPU and GPU configurations.Performance
The Pure Power 13 M 1000W delivers impressively stable voltage regulation even at heavy workloads compared to other 1000W PSUs we’ve tested this year. When compared to the SAMA G1000, which exhibits larger voltage fluctuations under heavier loads, the Pure Power 13 M maintains noticeably steadier voltage levels. This flatter voltage deviation indicates more consistent power delivery to system components, not observing significant voltage spikes. Efficiency is also observed to be excellent throughout our testing, further reinforcing its strong overall performance.
Value
Although the Pure Power 13 M series is officially positioned as an 80PLUS Gold and Cybenetics Gold-rated power supply, third-party efficiency testing reveals that the unit performed well beyond its advertised efficiency class. We confirmed with be quiet! that they are aware of the Cybenetics Platinum certification achieved by the 1000W model (and also the other models under the Pure Power 13 M Series); however, the company has intentionally chosen to market the series under 80PLUS Gold and Cybenetics Gold efficiency tiers. This decision is aimed at preventing overlap with higher-end offerings in their own lineup, such as the Platinum-rated Straight Power 12 and Power Zone 2 series.
From a consumer perspective, this positioning works in favour of the Pure Power 13 M 1000W, as it delivers higher-than-expected efficiency at a more accessible price point. Originally announced with an MSRP of $164.90, the PSU is now available in the United States for around $149.90, with historical lows reaching $111.90 on Amazon. In the UK, it can be found for £129.95 from Overclockers UK. While it shares similar efficiency certifications with competitors such as the FSP VITA GM 1000W and COUGAR GLE 1000W, the Pure Power 13 M stands out with a superior Cybenetics A++ acoustic rating, aided by be quiet!’s signature low-noise cooling fan.
The be quiet Pure Power 13 M 1000W offers impressive value with its Platinum-level efficiency, stable and tight voltage regulation, and best-in-class acoustics. Its fully modular cable design helps keep builds clean and uncluttered, while the 10-year warranty further strengthens its appeal for long-term system builders.
