BFG Tech have been quiet in the last 12 months, we had heard rumours that they were pulling out of the european market with regards to graphics card production but it seems now they have left the graphics card market altogether. The reason – it is no longer profitable.
You will recall the lifetime warranty that came as standard on all BFG graphics cards. This is probably one of the root causes of them having to pull out of such a competitive market. No other brand offers such lucrative warranty, and surely this puts them into a negative equity position. We were discussing with another brand a few months back how that offering anything over 3 years generally puts a company in rough ground and causes them to enter negative equity.
This comes as sad news, BFG were of course a very popular choice due to their nice warranty, but also because of their revolutionary overclocking models. They were the first to bring such a facet to the market with pre-clocked models giving gamers the choice of buying a product that doesn’t have to be tampered with. Now the market is pretty much flooded with card brands doing the same thing.
BFG Tech have said that any customers still with BFG products will be supported by the brand, and they will continue to produce computer systems and power supplies.
