Glass and RGB are two elements which are trending in the computer case world, allowing system builders to show off the finer details of their battlestation while also offering a visual feast envious companions.

Corsair are a brand which have fully embraced the RGB movement and they show no sign of backing down. Today we are checking out another of their computer cases which is designated as one of their new iCUE smart cases.

465X RGB is all about the visual spectacle – boasting tempered glass panels, triple RGB cooling fans and a focus on good airflow. But what else does it have to offer? Read on to find out!

The CORSAIR iCUE 465X RGB is a mid-tower ATX smart case that offers brilliant software-controlled lighting out of the box with three LL120 RGB fans and two tempered glass panels.

Thermal Performance Testing

Inside 465X we have three 120mm cooling fans which are mounted as front intakes.

To discover the thermal performance of 465X we will record idle temperatures after 20 minutes from a cold boot. We will then stress the system and temperatures will again be monitored after 30 minutes have elapsed.

For the purpose of accurate analysis, the idle and load temperatures for CPU will be recorded and the range between idle and load will be calculated to determine how efficient cooling is.

Noise

Attention has been placed on the airflow capabilities with this case and as such, it is possible to hear noise from the chassis due to its nature.

Conclusion

This is the second iCUE case that Corsair has brought to market – highlighting that they intend to push their RGB lighting eco-system even further than they had previously. For users who are or who are yet to subscribe to this, it makes perfect sense to have a centralised system for all products.

Glass and RGB could be regarded as 465X’s headline features and this case does an excellent job at presenting a visual impressive spectacle for all to admire. This chassis showcases a system configuration very well.

Build quality can be regarded as good, a steel chassis is married up with tempered glass. The only area which disappointed is the top dust filter which is thin and flimsy.

In the cooling arena, 465X does well thanks to two things – the design of the front panel and the three cooling fans. Though, this does come with a trade-off; noise! Since the panels are fairly exposed, noise can be heard but the very nature of this model is to focus more on cooling than silence and as such, it achieves this.

465X arrives with a price-tag of GBP: £99 USD: $150. Based on what we get, we feel this represents reasonable value for money.
