In today’s review we’re having a look at the newest release from Corsair, their Virtuoso RGB Wireless gaming headset, check out our review to find out if they’re worth buying.

The Virtuoso RGB Wireless gaming headset is a wireless gaming headset aimed at the enthusiast market and is the new flagship of Corsair’s headset series.
The Virtuoso RGB Wireless Headset features a matched pair of precisely tuned 50mm high-density neodymium drivers which deliver 7.1 surround sound with a frequency range of 20Hz – 40,000Hz and it also boasts premium memory foam earcups as well as memory foam padding in the headband.
The Virtuoso gaming headset takes advantage of Corsairs ‘Slipstream’ technology for it’s wireless functionality and this gets you a 60 foot (12 Meter) range and it also helps with the battery life, which comes in at 20 hours.
As with most of Corsair’s releases the Virtuoso RGB Wireless also benefits from extra functionality if you install the iCUE software, the main one for us being the 10-band EQ. You can also control the RGB lighting through the iCUE Software.
The Virtuoso Wireless headset also features a broadcast-grade detachable microphone which is a 4mm omni-directional affair which aims to provide a wide dynamic range and vocal clarity. A demonstration of the microphone will be available along with the software demonstration later in the review.

Packaging & First Look
The front of the box is undeniably Corsair, featuring bold white & yellow writing on a black background. We get a side profile shot of the left hand side of the Virtuoso RGB Wireless headset which puts the microphone on show.
The rear of the box gives you a rear facing shot of the headset allowing you get a rough idea of where the controls are on the headset. Towards the bottom of the box there are a few of the unique selling points listed.
In terms of accessories for this headset you get the detachable microphone, a USB Dongle which allows you to connect via Slipstream Technology along with a USB-C charging wire & 3.5mm audio jack to allow connectivity to mobile devices and gaming consoles.
Closer Look
First off we get a look at the RGB zones on the Virtuoso RGB Wireless which are the corsair logo, which is featured on each ear cup.In this shot we’ve tried to give an idea of how much padding has been given for the head band.
The ear cups featured on the Virtuoso RGB Wireless are oval shaped and as mentioned are made from a memory foam material to aid comfort.
The Virtuoso Wireless headset features a volume scroll wheel on the right ear cup along with a switch to change what mode of connectivity you wish to use, wireless, or wired. The wired option also works as a power toggle if you are using the headset in wireless mode.
The left ear cup of the Virtuoso headset features the USB-C charging port, the 3.5mm jack and a notched Mini USB slot for the detachable microphone.
The base of the micro phone also features a mute button for ease of access.
Performance Testing & Software
Design & Build Quality
Corsair’s Virtuoso RGB Wireless gaming headset features an aluminium frame, memory foam ear pads and headband and Neodymium drivers, all these measures mean the headset is fairly light and looks great.One thing that hasn’t suffered due to weight saving measures is the build quality which is superb, the headset feels extremely well built and comfortable, the scroll wheel offers plenty of resistance so you won’t accidentally adjust the volume too much and the ear cups do rotate but they are rather firm which means that you get a great seal which helps noise isolation a great deal
The only things letting it down in our eyes are the RGB, which we don’t view as useful on a headset, and the fact that our ears touch the inside of the ear cup, while this is okay for a little while it can lead to irritation in longer gaming sessions.
Audio Quality
Next up we put the Virtuoso wireless gaming headset through it’s paces in a multitude of settings, including PC Gaming & media consumption (both in the house and in public).The Virtuoso RGB wireless gaming headset shines in gaming especially, from the booming of explosions to the whistle of bullets flying past your head this headset does extremely well in getting you into the zone when you’re playing a game.
In terms of music consumption we did have to do some minor tweaking with the 10 band EQ in the iCUE software but that is something we’d recommend for everyone to do no matter what headset you’re purchasing
Microphone Test
During testing the Virtuoso RGB wireless gaming headset we used it for both Skype meetings and for talking to our team mates through Discord, the microphone performed well in both situations, the video below contains a demonstration of the microphone and the iCUE software as well, take a listen!Conclusion
So is Corsair’s Virtuoso RGB Wireless Gaming Headset worth it’s price tag? Absolutely, and then some.The aluminium and the matte black plastic and foam Corsair have used for the Virtuoso Wireless gaming headset all lend themselves to giving the Virtuoso a premium look and feel.
While there a multitude of connectivity options, which we’ve counted as a plus, the headset does lack the ability to connect via blue-tooth which may be a disappointment to some who wanted a one size fit s all solution for the headset needs.
The only other negative that we could think of is the RGB lighting, in our opinion there is just no need for it on a headset, if it was omitted it would help boost the battery life and in turn Corsair could lower the price they are asking for the Virtuoso RGB wireless gaming headset. We should note here that the RGB lighting can be disabled in the iCUE software so if it’s the looks that are getting on your nerves there is a solution!
