Today we take a look at a system from Cyperpower PC, featuring an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 and an Intel Core i5 9400F, aiming to provide excellent gaming performance on a budget.

It’s a few years since we last had the pleasure of reviewing a system from Cyberpower PC but today we bring you their Infinity X66 GTX Gaming PC which they claim strikes a balance between cost and performance backed by their years of experience. The system can be configured to almost any specification you can think up, with today’s exact system is listed on the following page; priced at £979.00.
The Infinity X66 GTX packs quite a punch with an Intel Core i5 9400F processor, sporting 6 cores with a boost frequency of 4.1GHz. Pair that with 16GB of Corsair Vengeance DDR4 clocked at 2400MHz and you have yourself a handy little powerhouse.
Providing the graphics horsepower is an MSI NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660, part of NVIDIA’s latest Turing architecture. The 1660 is stocked with 1408 CUDA cores, rated up to 1785MHz, and 6GB of GDDR5 to give plenty of grunt for 1080p gaming.
Housing all of the hardware is a Corsair Carbide Spec Delta RGB case, featuring a trio of RGB fans in the front and additional RGB lighting via LED strips inside. The front and side are transparent to show off your system lighting as best as possible.
Warranty is offered in tiers, with the standard warranty comprising of a 3-year labour, 2-year parts and 6-month collect and return package, along with lifetime technical support, should you ever require it. Additional cover is available with prices ranging from £19.99 for a Silver package, all the way to £149.99 for the Platinum service.

Packaging & Bundle
While some users may see this as a cheap shortcut but, if you think about it, Corsair have designed their polystyrene inserts to fit the case and box perfectly, and with the internal components having zero impact on the cases outer dimensions, that remains the same if the system is complete or empty. It also helps to reduce any environmental impact by re-using the same packaging. Cyberpower do, however, use their own inner bags which are of a lovely matte texture with their logo printed on them.
Stuffed inside the PC, surrounded by large bubblewrap, is the entire bundle. This is enclosed in a Ziploc pouch with the same matte texture as the outer bag protecting the chassis.
The bundle includes all of the manuals/warranty information for the components used in the system along with any driver discs or stickers. There’s also a UK power cord and a remote control for the RGB lighting.
Closer Look
If you visited the previous page, the chassis used will be no surprise. Here we have the Corsair Carbide SPEC-DELTA with the front Corsair badge covered up by a Cyberpower PC logo. The front is a smokey black plastic with air vents at the top and bottom while the side is tinted tempered glass.
The front IO, on top of the case towards the front, features a power button, 2x USB 3.0 ports, a headphone/microphone 3.5mm port and a reset button.
Also on top of the case is a magnetic dust filter, covering a 120mm/240mm/280mm radiator mount.
Spinning the case around to look at the rear IO, starting at the top and working downwards, we have:

Providing display outputs from the MSI NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 are a trio of DisplayPort 1.4 and and a single HDMI 2.0 port.
Below that is the WiFi card with a pair of antennas for better reception.
Closer Look (Internals)
Unscrewing the tempered glass panel, we can reveal the internals. There’s a definite trend towards a dark theme inside, though we’d be lying if we didn’t say the brown MSI Z370-A PRO motherboard didn’t look a little ugly against the other components. It’s helped a lot once the tinted tempered glass panel is back in place, where it’s much less noticeable, but a black motherboard would be much preferred. Other than the brown motherboard, though, we’re very pleased with the internal layout and cable routing.
The GPU chosen by Cyberpower is an MSI NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ventus XS 6G OC, sporting a small factory overclock over the reference and a custom-designed twin-fan cooler with a fancy backplate.
Tucked away neatly underneath is a tiny WiFi network card, would’ve been nice to use a black PCB, again, but it’s not nearly as noticeable as the motherboard.
Moving to the top half of the MSI motherboard, we have an Intel Core i5 9400F CPU which boasts a stock clock speed of 2.9GHz with a turbo boost speed of 4.1GHz, when thermal and power limits allow. Helping to keep the 9400F cool is a Corsair Hydro Series H60 liquid cooling loop, venting out of the rear of the case. Residing to the right of the CPU is 16GB (2x 8GB) of Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 memory, clocked at 2400MHz with CAS timings of 16-16-16-39.
For fast-access storage, Cyberpower have called upon the 256GB Intel 760p NVMe M.2 SSD, this drive promises sequential read and write speeds of 3210MB/s and 1315MB/s respectively, as well as upwards of 200,000 IOPS in both read and write.
In the front of the chassis are a trio of Corsair RGB fans, drawing air through a partially ventilated front fascia. Connected to the bottom-right of the motherboard is a motherboard buzzer, an odd addition that we rarely see. We’d personally remove this and store it somewhere until it’s required as it looks a little out of place.
Finally, removing the rear panel we can get a better look at Cyberpower’s cable management and we have to say, it’s very decent. We can also see the Corsair CX650 power supply with its 80+ Bronze rating and 650W peak output. This is mounted upside down with an air intake on the bottom of the case, complete with a removeable dust filter.
RGB Lighting
Benchmarks: Temperatures & Boot Time
For our first benchmark test we observe the max. CPU/GPU temperatures of the system while allowing Unigine Heaven 4.0 to run on a 30-minute loop. To report back on the temperatures we use RealTemp and GPU-Z which provide the peak figures.
In this test we observe how fast the boot into Windows 10 is by using a digital stopwatch.

Conclusion
First impressions are important, so by association, that includes the aesthetics of a gaming machine. While its performance, which we’ll get to very soon, is paramount, we also like the machine to look good. The Corsair Carbide Spec Delta looks fantastic at night and in the daylight. The RGB lighting is bright and super easy to configure with the included remote control, you can change through many different modes and adjust speeds etc, all while not bloating your system with any kind of software. Cable management is tidy, largely thanks to the Corsair Spec Delta but also to Cyberpower for their routing skills behind the motherboard tray. Overall, the system looks great, just do us a favour and swap out the brown motherboard for a black one, please.For your £979, the Intel Core i5 9400F and GTX 1660 seem to be very well matched, they power through 1080p gaming with no issues and even managed four of our titles at 1440p, with relatively high AA and quality settings. The Intel 760p SSD enables a rapid boot into Windows 10 and thanks to the 16GB of Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4, there’s ample memory for large programs and any game you can throw at it. The Intel CPUs 4.1GHz turboboost, which we found it was often hitting, or close to, enabled the system some very good single-threaded performance, particularly when compared to a Ryzen 5 CPU of similar cost.
Because of Cyberpower’s use of a chassis featuring three fans in the front, a twin-fan GPU cooler and a Corsair H60 AIO loop, noise and temperatures are all kept to a minimum, we struggled to hear the system while gaming making this an ideal system to place on your desk where a droning fan could quickly become a nuisance. Corsair’s CX650 PSU also remained very quiet in the bottom of the case, drawing in cool air from the bottom of the case; thanks to its 650W peak output, you’re also well catered for if you choose to upgrade the GPU or add additional HDDs in the future.
2TB of HDD is plenty of most users, especially when you consider the 256GB SSD, all under the £1000 bracket. This gives you space for one, or possibly two, large AAA gaming titles and your operating system on the C: drive and 2TB of D: for all your movies, pictures, music and less-used games.
Considering the Infinity X66 sweeps in under the £1000 bracket, you wouldn’t know. The finish inside the case paired with the very respectable performance left us feeling like this machine presents excellent value with well-thought-out components.
