Bye bye Phenom 2 and your 7GHz+ possibilities
According to this information, this will end all AMD consumer desktop CPU brand names, leaving only the A- series APUs, the E- series APUs and the FX CPUs. The only family member walking on with AMD will be the Server/Workstation Opteron CPUs. For some, they may throw their hands up and cheer ‘ABOUT TIME TOO!’. Others may have a sombre moment of nostalgia. For me this is a sure sign that AMD are moving on, as technology must.

Will you miss these chips? or are you glad to see their back? Discuss with us in our forum.
