Taipei, Taiwan (30th March, 2015 ) — ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced Dream Gaming Machine, a month-long online campaign to identify the finest custom cases for the latest ROG gaming desktops and notebooks. The roster of Dream Gaming Machines were designed and built by world-renowned modders and include unique creations based on the ROG G20 (five builds) and GR8 (five builds) gaming desktops and the G751 (two builds) gaming notebook.
From today until 20th April 2015, visitors to the Dream Gaming Machine website at http://rog.asus.com/Dream_Gaming_Machine have the opportunity to win superb prizes in exchange for their votes to determine the best three designs. The winning builds will each be declared a Dream Gaming Machine, and the prizes on offer to voters reflect the core of each Dream Gaming Machine — ROG G20 and GR8 gaming desktops and G751 gaming notebooks are all up for grabs. The G20 gaming desktop winner will also receive the ASUS VG248QE ultra-fast 144Hz gaming monitor, while the GR8 gaming desktop winner’s prize package will include the 27-inch VG278HE ultra-fast 144Hz gaming monitor. The three Dream Gaming Machines and three winning voters will be revealed on 27th April, 2015.
Visitors to the Dream Gaming Machine website are able to vote multiple times to increase their chances of winning, with a maximum of one vote per day, per visitor. The campaign will also include bonus giveaways, triggered each time 10,000 votes are cast. Bonus prizes include the ROG Gladius mouse and Whetstone mouse pad, and will be awarded via a random draw.
The Dream Gaming Machines are born
ROG invited 12 of the world’s leading modders to France, and challenged each of them create their Dream Gaming Machine in just 30 hours.
The expert case-crafters were encouraged to set their imaginations based on the ROG product line-up’s unique and outstanding design, performance and portability in order to turn five ROG G20 compact gaming desktops, five GR8 ultra-compact gaming desktops and two G751 gaming laptops into ultimate objects of desire.
ROG G20 Dream Gaming Machine contenders
The modders’ spectacular creations include Fortress, a stunning work of art realized by Lee Harrington (PcjunkieMods) and inspired by Superman’s secret citadel, the Fortress of Solitude. Mounted on a rotating pedestal and surrounded by dozens of crystalline rods that glow in awesome ROG red, the heart of Fortress is G20 — the powerful ROG gaming desktop in a compact 12.5-liter case.
A second G20-based build is the stealthy ROGUE by Ali Abbas, a name formed by melding ROG with the initial letters of ‘under’ and ‘estimated’ — reflecting the fact that Ali had previously underestimated G20’s sheer gaming power.
Night Elf is the third Dream Gaming Machine candidate built around the G20 and GR8 gaming desktop. Created by Wei Zheng, Night Elf is adorned with LEDs that emit an atmospheric red glow for nighttime gaming.
Watermod Limited Edition is the work of Mathieu Heredia (Sassanou Watermod). Also using the G20 as its core, Heredia crafted Watermod Limited Edition with luxurious materials including leather and gold for a one-of-a-kind build that proudly exudes its exclusivity.
The final G20 build is Arrow Desk, by Emmanuel Cuccu. Inspired by G20’s thrusting power and speed, Cuccu spent 30 hours crafting an arrow-shaped gaming bench. With G20 sat atop Arrow Desk, Cuccu hopes his build will point him to victory.
ROG GR8 Dream Gaming Machine contenders
The console-inspired ROG GR8 ultra-compact gaming PC is also represented by five builds, including the spider-like Cyberachnid. Created by Richard Surroz (DarthBeavis), Cyberachnid’s eight hand-carved legs lend a bio-mechanical air to the powerful, menacing aesthetic.
Next up is GR8-N-GO by Stefan Blass which accentuates GR8’s ultra-compact credentials with a handle for additional portability and aluminum braces for superior strength.
ROG Chest is a GR8-themed build from Xmodding Factory’s Tommaso Mascia. This design is similarly inspired by GR8’s powerful minimalism, placing the console-sized ROG gaming PC in a beautiful Plexiglas® case able to store everything else Mascia likes to carry with him when he plays.
Andrea Lucherini’s Luxury LAN bag puts ROG GR8 in another Plexiglas-based carry-case with stencil-cut foam padding to keep both GR8 and Lucherini’s gaming accessories securely protected when traveling to LAN parties.
Emergency Kit for Gamer is the invention of Mickael Arrivetx (FrostMod), and the final GR8-based Dream Gaming Machine contender. Arrivetx’s ambition was to create military-style transportation for his GR8 and gaming accessories, and Emergency Kit for Gamer’s striking ruggedized suitcase ensures that everything inside is both secure and also ready to game.
ROG G751 Dream Gaming Machine contenders
The G751 gaming notebook forms the basis of Italian modder Massimo’s Dangerous Box, placing the portable in an exclusive aluminum carry case. The one-of-a-kind creation accentuates G751’s power and strength, and highlights its elegant style with sleek ROG-red accents.
The second and last G751 build is ROG Bag by Martin Blass, a 3mm-thick aluminum case lacquered in ROG red and black and coated internally with a soft-touch material that cleverly doubles as a gaming mouse mat.

ROG G20 is a compact gaming desktop PC featuring a 12.5-liter case and powered by a 4th-generation Intel® Core™ i7 processor, matched with powerful discrete NVIDIA GeForce® GTX™ 760 graphics card for unstoppable gaming and home entertainment in spectacular WQHD 2560 x 1440-pixel resolution.
