Over the past few weeks members on the Ebuyer forums have been formulating a competition. There will be three categories: Community Voted Best Project, Best Project Mod. and the Best Mod. Picture. The last two of which will be selected by judges. The Best Project Mod. will be judged in four sections, each being out of 10: Initial Design, Project Log, End Result and Final Cost (in the form of a cost to quality ratio).
To set a level playing field all entrants purchase one of a select few cases (around the £10 mark). It is with this case that they then have a strict budget of £50 (excluding the case and any tools) to modify their case to their heart’s content. For those good at bargaining, any free materials you are able to (legally) acquire are allowed but nothing too outlandish so as to keep the competition interesting.
A project log is a requirement and the competition will run for two months, from July 1st 2010 to September 1st. This gives you plenty of time to think up some ideas, get pen to paper and finally to create your masterpiece.
