In the spotlight today we have the new MONTECH TEN, a compact computer enclosure which offers modular features and the choice of 3 different system configurations including Micro ATX and Mini-ITX support.

Marking the company’s 10-year anniversary, the MONTECH TEN arrives as a compact chassis built around adaptability rather than a single fixed layout. Designed as a highly modular small-form-factor platform, the TEN blends clean industrial styling with airflow-focused engineering, aiming to satisfy builders who want compact dimensions without sacrificing hardware flexibility. Its “Built to Adapt” philosophy is evident throughout the case, from the interchangeable internal structure to the refined mesh-heavy exterior that balances ventilation with a minimalist aesthetic.

At the heart of the TEN is its adaptive architecture, allowing the chassis to transform between multiple internal configurations depending on the build priority. MONTECH promotes three distinct operating modes — M1, M2, and I3 — giving builders the freedom to optimise for traditional airflow cooling, liquid cooling setups, or compact Mini-ITX sandwich-style layouts. The case also supports multiple PSU mounting positions and flexible GPU orientations, turning what would normally be a fixed compact enclosure into something far more customisable for enthusiasts experimenting with different hardware combinations.


Cooling and airflow are clearly central to the TEN’s design philosophy. The chassis uses a heavily ventilated mesh structure intended to maximise unrestricted airflow while still maintaining a premium visual presentation. MONTECH’s vertical thermal engineering approach takes advantage of the natural chimney effect, pulling cool air from the lower intake zones and exhausting heat through the top of the case. Despite its compact footprint, the TEN is designed to accommodate extensive fan and radiator support, large graphics cards, and both ATX and SFX power supplies, making it surprisingly capable for high-performance hardware configurations.

For this review, we’ll be building a Mini-ITX test system inside the TEN to explore how effectively its modular layout system works in practice. The build will also provide a closer look at accessibility, cooling flexibility, cable management, and the overall user experience that MONTECH is aiming to deliver with this ambitious compact chassis.

Thermal Performance Testing


Inside TEN there is just a single 92mm cooling fan configured as a rear exhaust. Having just a single fan, and push only config, we expect this case to offer fairly average results.

To discover the thermal performance of TEN we will record idle temperatures after 20 minutes from a cold boot. We will then stress the system and temperatures will again be monitored after 30 minutes have elapsed.

For the purpose of accurate analysis, the idle and load temperatures for CPU will be recorded and the range between idle and load will be calculated to determine how efficient cooling is.

NOTE: Ambient temperature is 20C

The below system configuration is different to that which is displayed/installed within photos/video. We use this below configuration for historic comparison.

TEN is heavily ventilated and as a result will leak noise quite easily, however since we are only dealing with a 92mm fan in its stock configuration, there is very little noise emitted. To see the audio results please check out our video review.

Conclusion


The MONTECH TEN ultimately succeeds in delivering something genuinely different within the increasingly crowded small-form-factor market. Rather than forcing builders into a single restrictive layout, MONTECH has created a chassis that encourages experimentation and flexibility, allowing users to tailor the internal arrangement around their preferred hardware and cooling priorities. Combined with its sleek exterior styling and strong airflow-focused design, the TEN manages to feel both modern and enthusiast-oriented without becoming overly complicated visually.

One of the standout aspects of the TEN is its versatility. The inclusion of three distinct configuration modes gives the chassis a level of adaptability rarely seen in compact enclosures, while support for both Mini-ITX and Micro-ATX motherboards broadens its appeal considerably. GPU flexibility is another major strength, with the ability to install large graphics cards in either horizontal or vertical orientations depending on the chosen layout. The option to use either SFX or full-size ATX power supplies further reinforces the idea that this case is designed to accommodate a wide variety of system builds rather than catering to a narrow niche.


Cooling support is equally impressive for a chassis of this size. That said, the TEN is not without compromises. Cable management can become difficult rather quickly, particularly in more complex builds utilising larger GPUs, ATX power supplies, or multiple radiators. Builders hoping for a clean and effortless cable-routing experience may need extra patience and planning to fully take advantage of the available space. The compact dimensions naturally limit some convenience, and this is one area where the modularity occasionally works against simplicity.

Even with those shortcomings, the MONTECH TEN offers strong value for money thanks to its unique design approach, broad hardware compatibility, and highly adaptable internal structure. It feels like a chassis aimed squarely at enthusiasts who enjoy customising and refining their builds rather than simply assembling components in a traditional layout.

For users seeking a compact case that combines premium aesthetics, flexible configuration options, and substantial cooling support, the TEN stands out as one of MONTECH’s most ambitious and compelling designs to date.
