“Gaming chairs” have made quite an impression on the market in recent years, with companies popping up left, right and centre to cater for this crowd. Nitro Concepts was established in 2016, so it fits this description perfectly, yet they claim to offer genuine quality at an affordable price.
We’ve seen RGB lighting in just about every product you can purchase, as well as a huge range of products designed to make your gaming station appear as beautiful as possible; a standard office chair, however, can completely ruin that style. Whether you’re worried about your Reddit karma when posting images of your setup or about comfort during those prolonged gaming sessions, Nitro Concepts appears to have the ideal product.
Nitro Concepts has provided us with their most recent addition to the range, the S300. This chair arrives in a whole array of striking colours: yellow, orange, red, black, blue, green and white. We requested the black edition, which will fit in with most gaming and office environments.
Within this review we will take a look at the construction of the chair, as well as testing comfort over a two week period, read on to find out what we think.

Packaging & Included Parts
The Nitro Concepts S300 arrived in its own packaging, which once unpacked, turned out to be more than good enough for the job. The external box was triple corrugated and measured in at around 880mm x 380mm x 700mm and weighed around 25kg. Between each of the substantial parts is a layer of thick paper and foam to prevent any damage in transit, as well as each part being bubble wrapped or packaged in Nitro Concepts branded bags.
The backrest feels immediately premium, with an incredibly thick fabric used, as well as a heavy gauge of thread to further that feel. At the top of the headrest is a stitched Nitro Concepts logo which corresponds to the colour of the chair chosen, in our case, black. Directly below is a cut-out section which serves two purposes; it further reinforces the feel of a “racing seat” as well as allowing anchor points for the lumber support cushion.
The base of the seat is built from a solid steel construction upon which the cold foam upholstery is mounted. The same cold foam is used as the padding on the back of the chair. The 3D arm rests feature 3 different axes of movement.
Flipping over the base of the chair, that steel construction becomes immediately apparent. You can also see some heavy duty metal clips used to hold the fabrics in place. The width between the arm rests cannot be adjusted while sitting in the chair, however, using the 3 Allen-key bolts on the underside provides roughly 25mm of adjustment on each side.

Bundled with the chair are the “fiddly bits”, which allow the chair to actually function. The gas cylinder is capable of supporting a load of 135KG (roughly 21 stone, in old money), as well as the rest of the chair also being capable of withstanding that weight. The rocking mechanism can tilt up to 14° and uses a multi-function lever to control the height of the chair, as well as locking the mechanism, if required. Also included are the screws and bolts to hold the pieces together, as well as 5 nylon wheels designed for any surface.
Part of the weight loading is also the 5-prong base, constructed from solid nylon. Those 5 inserts along the length of each leg will coordinate with the colour of the S300, again this is black to match our chair.
To help improve posture and comfort, Nitro Concepts throw in a pair of cushions, one of which is to be placed around the neck/head region and the other is for lumbar support. The neck pillow is reasonably soft and appears to be filled with a “fluffy” material, whereas the lumbar support is much more substantial and supportive.
Finished Look
The building process of the S300 was incredibly simple, requiring only a Phillips screwdriver and a 6mm Allen-key (a basic version of these tools are provided.)
Build time was around 15 minutes, though make sure to leave yourself plenty of room to move around. The instruction manual was handy, though Nitro Concepts have designed their parts in such a way that it will be entirely unnecessary for anyone competent with building furniture.
It is definitely recommended to recruit a friend to help with the construction of the chair, however it is not strictly necessary.
Once you’re finished wrestling the back into place, and put on all of the finishing touches, we were certainly impressed by the overall look – this chair, in the black colour, would match any office environment.
Adjustment of the chair is managed by a couple of handles on the right-hand-side. The handle at the hinge between the base and the back is used to control the angle of the back. Conveniently placed, directly underneath, is the adjustment for the height of the chair, as well as a locking pin to prevent the base mechanism from rocking.
The 3D armrests are adjustable on 3 axes. Up and down, forwards and backwards and angle inwards or outwards. They feel relatively solid considering the amount of adjustment available to the user.
Conclusion
The overall feel and construction of the Nitro Concepts S300 cannot be marked down, especially considering the very reasonable RRP of £229.99. We were especially impressed by the quality of the stitching and the thickness of the fabric used; it gives a real sense of longevity from the chair. Some retailers in the UK offer free delivery on this chair, making the deal all the more appealing.The adjustability of the S300 brings with it a degree of comfort that you can’t achieve from a standard office chair. Being able to customise the angle of the back, the height of the base and given the choice of using the bundled cushions to further improve posture and comfort.
Given the range of colours available, we find it a struggle to find a colour scheme that these chairs couldn’t fit into; if we were forced to find a problem, we would perhaps request pink and/or purple options for the more feminine amongst us.
