With recent news that EA is planning to go digital only one would ask “but what about consoles?”. Sony have just bought Gaikai, a cloud based gaming company for $380 million!
“SCE will deliver a world-class cloud-streaming service that allows users to instantly enjoy a broad array of content ranging from immersive core games with rich graphics to casual content anytime, anywhere on a variety of internet-connected devices.”
It is likely that tablet’s and phones are the target but will this also be used for Sony’s next gen console? Only time will tell.
