Tt eSPORTS have developed their in-ear gaming headset, the Isurus a step further from the DUB by adding in a removable microphone, by doing this they are able to achieve that clear, in-game communication which can be vital, yet still achieves that portability for mobile use that many can enjoy. Other changes from the Isurus DUB, that the Isurus Pro also features a hardwired 4 pole jack, so it can be used with smart phones, tablets and notebooks without the need for an adaptor, though there is an included splitter for use with PC.
The interesting design aesthetic was created by the Level 10 team, and the headset promises great bass from the 13.5mm neodymium drivers along with good noise reduction from the silicone ear grip, the in-line remote also has a microphone built in. Bundled in with the headset is a convenient carry case which can hold the headset while you move around. On paper the recipe looks perfect so we move on to the testing.

Packaging & Bundle
Tightly packed in a plastic blister, the Isurus Pro is on display for all to see. The honeycomb design looks great, though it seems like it is mostly excess material for little other than aesthetic purpose. The primary features are listed being the removable microphone, 13mm drivers (they are 13.5mm), 3 button remote, and the secure fit system.
On the reverse side there is a detailed diagram showing off all the features and listing the technical details. Not sure why Tt eSPORTS felt the need to include the words ‘professional gaming headset’ in 14 languages however.
Included in the package is a quick start guide, an extra 2x different size silicone sleeves and the 4 pole splitter.
The included carry case is coated with a PU leather which opens up to simply be an empty space.
Closer Look
The design of the Isurus Pro makes the earcups stand quite tall with the secure fit being quite a prominent feature, the Isurus Pro features a 4 pole jack, making it more convenient for mobile users.
The cable should allow tangle free management.
The microphone attaches via 2.5mm jack and can easily be removed.
The in-line remote features a pause/play button, forward and back buttons and an additional in-line microphone. Depending on the mobile device, the functions may change, such as the forward/back buttons may control volume instead, for more information see here.
Performance Testing
Setup, Design & Observations
The build quality of the Isurus Pro feels good and the design is attractive, but the weight does feel a little high for an in-ear solution. The use of replaceable silicone inserts tends to be fairly standard across many products in use today but has its pros and cons. The inserts are washable and aid in noise cancelling and comfort, some may dislike this style of insert and find them uncomfortable. For me, even with the smallest size, I found the Isurus Pro to be a little uncomfortable for long periods of time (over an hour) and I believe this to be attributed by the weight, creating pressure on my inner ear. This is despite the fact that the secure fit system, IE. the red hook inside your ear, actually felt good and worked well.
The removeable microphone pulled out easily, and secured back in as you would expect from any jack but was relatively inflexible due to the steel band it is mounted on. When you remove the microphone, the second microphone will kick in by default which is handy for on the go so you don’t have a large boom microphone if you choose to use the Isurus Pro with your mobile phone. The buttons on the in-line remote click nicely and feels solidly put together and you can answer/end calls using the play/pause button. There is no mute switch however, which some may find annoying.
The included carry case is a zip open pouch where you just stuff the headset into. The removable microphone needs to be removed to fit inside, and because there is no moulded houses for the ear buds, you literally have to scrunch them up and jam it inside. This could have been better if it was a more professional looking case with foam inserts to well look after your headset.
Multimedia
On listening to various known music tracks, the deep bass proved quite smooth and punchy. Listening to ‘Lockyn-Hiatus’ the variations between the deep bass and bright mids and treble revealed various weaknesses in its precision, with the bass not being as tight as I know it to be, the mids feeling spongy and the treble having lost its edge a little. The overall experience is enjoyable, but it became hard not to notice the missing details.
In gaming the Isurus pro gave a surprising kick to the action in FPS games, those large (for in-ear) drivers really making that deep bass work. In DOTA2, in game sound effects were accounted for, but didn’t give quite that open soundscape that I had hoped for.
Microphone
The removable microphone gave clear voice transmission with only a little background static (with no audio filtering enabled), the removable microphone can also be used for good quality mobile voice calls. Using the in-line microphone via the PC, it is as expected, tinny and not great, though in mobile voice calls it was perfect and was able to pick up voice messages competently.
Conclusion
The Isurus Pro offers gamers an interesting in-ear headset solution capable of giving you clear voice transmission and powerful bass. The design aesthetic is interesting helping you to stand out, the fact it uses a hard lined 4 pole jack means that it can easily be used with mobile devices without needing any extra adaptors.
The difficulty with the Isurus Pro is that there are some fantastic in-ear solutions available in regards to audio quality, including the Apple Earpods which can be bought between £5-15 as well as the earphones included with the Samsung Galaxy S 5-6. The primary advantage the Isurus Pro has, is the removable microphone. This is what allows it to be a viable solution for on the go team gaming where voice communication is integral. The comfort is a little hit and miss depending on the person and their preference. If you regularly use in-ear solutions, you may not find any problem with comfort, though in our testing we found that after long periods there was a dull ache, despite the fact that the secure fit system felt comfortable. The included carry case will be useful though it’s a shame that it wasn’t a quality molded solution for perfect storage.
As far as in-ear gaming solutions go the Isurus Pro looks attractive and provides clear voice communication and powerful gaming audio, if you prefer earphones over headphones and it tick your boxes, the Isurus Pro deserves your attention as there are likely few other in-ear solutions that offer a similar level of versatility.
Powerful and portable with clear in game communication, the Isurus Pro in-ear gaming headset is a small bundle with big potential.
