Intel‘s mainstream and enthusiast system platforms are already pretty attractive propositions, but in an effort to stimulate yet more interest GIGABYTE are stepping up with a new promotion they’re calling Cash is King. Qualifying GIGABYTE motherboards purchased between June 17th and July 15th 2016 will be eligible for up to £115 cash back when also bought with a qualifying Intel CPU, amounting to a pretty large chunk off the initial cost of a brand new system.
Amongst the motherboards that are part of the offer are the brand new X99-Designare EX designs, unveiled at Computex2016 and featuring RGB lighting, great overclocking support and ports adhering to the latest U.2 storage standards. Perhaps unsurprisingly the X99-Designare EX is at the top £45 echelon of the motherboard cash-back tier, reflecting its premium status.
Alongside the Designare EX are GIGABYTE’s Gaming motherboard range, including X99, Z170 and H170 models. With a broad range of gaming features including multi-GPU compatibility and overclocking (H170 excluded), the Gaming range is well suited to any taste. Stand-out SKUs are the mATX Z170MX-Gaming 5 and the new Z170X-Ultra Gaming, offering small form factor support and new storage features respectively. The Gaming range motherboards qualify for a rebate of between £12 and £35, depending on model.

Entry-level DDR3 systems are also included in this offer through a comprehensive array of mATX B150-chipset motherboards; if your budget is significantly constrained but still have some spare DDR3 memory lying around, these could be an option.
“But,” you say, “the offer is for ‘up to £115 cash back”. Well here is where the CPUs come in – the concurrent CPU purchase is also eligible for its own equivalent cash back of up to £70, making the maximum cash back from one order £115. The CPUs included in the offer are the current Intel ‘Skylake’ Core i5 6600K and Core i7 6700K; ‘Haswell-E’ Core i7 5820K, 5930K and 5960X; and older Haswell Core i5 and i7 models.
Also included in the “Cash is King” promotion are the previously mentioned Haswell CPUs and matching Z97-chipset motherboards. Obviously in part intended to clear older stock, the cash back on these items is a touch more generous than you might expect compared to more modern Skylake and Z170 products.
Redemption is a little convoluted, as is often the case with Cash Back offers of this type. Claims must be made between 30 and 60 days after your initial purchase to http://www.toptechcashback.com/cpumb, and you will need to retain your proof of purchase (in the form of invoice or similar).
