FiiO has officially released the EA13, its first integrated vacuum tube amplifier designed for passive loudspeakers. The Class A push-pull amplifier combines two Sylvania NOS PCF80 preamp tubes with four JJ Electronic EL34 power tubes, delivering up to 28W + 28W of output power for 4-ohm and 8-ohm speakers. The FiiO EA13 also includes a dedicated 6.35mm single-ended headphone output and four RCA analogue inputs.
The FiiO EA13 uses a custom EI silicon steel-core output transformer with a dual-layer vibration-damping structure filled with epoxy resin and fine sand. FiiO says the transformer design helps reduce background noise while improving bass authority and treble refinement. The amplifier also uses an analogue stepped attenuator for precise volume control and features dual-channel LED-backlit mechanical VU meters.
Key Features
Pure Tube Amplification: Uses two matched Sylvania NOS PCF80 vacuum tubes in the preamplifier stage and four JJ Electronic EL34 power tubes in the power stage.
Class A Push-Pull Architecture: Delivers up to 28W + 28W into both 4-ohm and 8-ohm loads, providing enough power for most bookshelf speakers and selected floor-standing speakers.
Custom Output Transformer: The custom EI silicon steel-core transformer uses a dual-layer vibration-damping structure filled with epoxy resin and fine sand to reduce noise and improve bass and treble performance.
Four RCA Inputs: Provides four analogue RCA inputs for connecting multiple source devices.
4-Ohm/8-Ohm Speaker Outputs: Dedicated speaker outputs allow the EA13 to be matched to either 4-ohm or 8-ohm passive speakers.
6.35mm Headphone Output: Supports headphones from 16 to 300 ohms, with up to 185mW + 185mW output into 300 ohms.
Analogue Stepped Attenuator: Provides precise volume adjustment through an analogue stepped attenuation design.
Wide Frequency Response: The speaker output supports 20Hz–60kHz, while the headphone output extends from 20Hz–65kHz.
