Toshiba introduces the MQ04 Series 1TB ultra-compact 2.5-inch hard drive for mobile PC storage applications. The Toshiba MQ04 is the brand’s highest capacity single-disk model and it sports an ultra-compact 2.5-inch form factor having thickness of only 7mm which is comparable to thin Client SSD solutions. The MQ04 HDD uses 6Gbit/s SATA interface at 5400 RPM and sports a massive 128MB buffer memory compared to just 8MB from the previous generation MQ01 Series.
With the improved read and write performance, the Toshiba MQ04 1TB is 34% faster versus the MQ01 1TB generation model. Toshiba aims to meet the demands in client mobile computers with a higher performance HDD in applications including notebooks, mini PCs and other mobile computing form factors.
